About Me

I fall into the position of’ ‘clergy’—some would say a rather unfortunate position.  I, on the other hand, enjoy the role and have found that it provides interesting portholes from which to peer across the shifting seas of spiritual pursuits. Traveling also intrigues me and I have done so in a variety of contexts such as Bolivia, Peru, Turkey, Israel and India. Scuba diving is another one of my passions; I have pursued underwater exploration throughout el Caribe (yo hablo español), the U.S. and Canada.

My interest is speaking about spirituality from a ’slantwise’ perspective—that is opening some windows of faith that might be overlooked or rejected without reflection. Spirituality often comes to us in serendipitous ways and the ‘the holy moment’ can be missed if we limit our thinking to predetermined packages. I enjoy reading from different faith perspectives, watching films that shed light on the human condition, and learning fom the cultural mosaic of our beautiful world. In my worldview the earth is replete with the presence of God and shows up in surprising, piercing, and often humorous expressions. Hence, my observations will freely comment on the spiritual life as such impressions pass along the corridors of my mind. If these musings have any worth in your experience, then please enjoy! If not, you have the ability to pass on to ‘Go’—a terrific tool of our wordy world.

Cheers, Alan Davey
